Publisher: Pocket Star
Release Date: September 18th 2017
Synopsis on Goodreads:
New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando returns with a brand new series about a brigade of lawyers who, despite being bad boys at heart, always end up just on the right side of the law.
Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants from life. And as the new associate at the top law firm in the city, she’s ready to live out her dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer. But going on coffee runs and babysitting kids during the day was definitely not what she had in mind. She knows that anyone else would kill to be in her shoes, but she has to draw the line somewhere. That’s easier said than done, though, when Kat has to confront her handsome boss…
Tristan Channing and Jaxon Bentley run a successful law firm together and the two partners couldn’t be busier right now. When Jaxon suddenly takes a leave of absence, Tristan begrudgingly assumes responsibility of the new associate, the hot new associate, who has curves for days. Needing to keep his distance from her, Tristan sends Kat on needless errands and has her doing work even an intern wouldn’t touch, like picking up his kids. But his plan backfires when he sees his children grow attached to Kat and sees her getting comfortable in his home. It triggers something deep within him, and it feels right to have her there. Will Tristan be able to keep his work and personal lives separate, or will he find that his heart holds the final verdict?
*I read the book through xoxoafterdark.com where one can read free romance books online.*
Equal parts funny, sexy, and intriguing.
Tristan is such a mystery and he’s sending mixed signals! A girl can only overthink so much.
That’s the sound of my ovaries exploding.
Katerina is also a funny character, but very relatable. Her thoughts involving Tristan is exactly the thoughts I would have when faced with a hot guy. (But her situation is very much different from mine.)
I’m reading a children’s book, in front of his son, who is the one who wanted me here, not Tristan, and I’m thinking about what’s underneath his sweatpants.
I’m going to hell.
I kind of want more, but the story feels complete already. Besides, there’s more Conflict of Interest short stories I could work my way with.
You can’t miss something you don’t remember, but then again, loving memories are worth their weight in gold.
It’s got some family drama which caught me off guard but it would have been great to get more drama.
Ignorance truly is a bliss. And so is denial.
Find out how Katerina and Tristan danced around their attraction towards each other!
Tristan Channing is the definition of agentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets.
