Synopsis from Goodreads:

Fake relationship. Real second chance.

The day of Connor’s farewell party, I put on a new dress just for him.
I wanted him to see me as…
Well, I didn’t know what I wanted him to see me as.
I saw him as the cute, nerdy engineer-in-training next door.
Now I’m interviewing at his billion-dollar tech firm.
I knew he would go places, but I didn’t think he would look this good doing it.
But he isn’t the nice guy next door anymore.
He’s all man now, and his investors think his bad boy ways make him a liability.
So he gives me a different challenge:
Pretend to be his girlfriend. Help clean up his image.
We already know everything about each other, so how hard can this be?
Except there’s a few things he doesn’t know about me.
Starting with the fact that I never stopped wanting him.
Our contract is for one fake date, but things are about to get veryreal.
So how hard can this be?
Really, really hard.

Candy sweet. Scorching hot. No cheating. HEA.

If you ever had a crush on your big bro’s friend or your next door neighbor, then this one’s for you.

A bit bittersweet, steamy level is in 5 I guess. There’s this undeniable tension, attraction, and heat between these two people. An easy read, straight to the point, told in two POVs with two stubborn people who just can’t say what they really want to say. I mean, what’s so difficult by confessing your feelings? Other that rejection of course, but no one dies of rejection.

Lauren Milson is really great in writing novellas that you could read between books or during a break from a complicated world in a different book you’re currently reading. I love a good, quick romance read form time to time. I don’t think I could live without romance and the heat, which is why I enjoy these ARCs that the author offers to her ARC team.

3 out of 5 stars because I thought it’d be more steamy than that.
